Home Owner Garden Windows
The Garden Window makes both an attractive and utilitarian addition to your home. Our factory assembled four (4) window structure can be used by you as either a mini-greenhouse or a "knick-knack" display case. For either use, you can obtain the Garden Window with optional, low cost shelves. The roof of this unit is a picture window, as is also the front window. On the two extending sides, you may prefer venting (opening) casement windows to be installed because they crank out to allow air in the unit. The maximum width of these windows is 12 feet in width.
If your Garden Window is going to be used as a "knick-knack" display, having Low-E glass and Argon gas filled glass units is good, since it will save on energy use. However, if you are planning to put plants into the Garden Window, use of Low-E glass might pose a problem. Low-E glass stops a large amount of ultra-violet light (at the lower end of the spectrum- vibrating at about 380 Nanometers second-which is about the lowest sensing that human beings can make).
Some people report that their plants do not thrive in a Garden Window equipped with Low-E glass; others say it doesn't have any effect on their plants. If you are unsure about the use of Low-E glass in your Garden Window, consult with your florist or green house people. They can advise you about it, perhaps by recommending appropriate flowers and plants to grow in a Low-E equipped Garden Window.
Colors and finishes available: Standard White; modestly priced Beige, Brown, Cream White and Sand Tone. Finishes available at slight extra cost are Light Oak Wood Grain on White, Light Oak Wood Grain on Beige and Dark Oak Wood Grain on White.
Whether you keep flowers or your precious items in your Garden Window, you will like both their look and utility.
